“As the World Turns”, Super Eight, 00:02:17, in-camera edit, Manhattan, architectural projection installation, 1999.
Outside of my Fifth Avenue apartment, through an enormous glass window pane, I had a view of another building. At night it turned into a grid of endlessly blinking squares. I guess I noticed because I didn't own a television. I covered my window with vellum, turned off the lights and projected my film over to the blinking building in front of me. It would have been quite a large projection, hard to miss, unless they were all just watching TV.
